Wednesday Tips #5 2015

painting frame cropped My granddaughters love painting and decorating items to take home. On this occasion I  found a simple wooden picture frame at a Hardware store and bought it at very little cost to take home for a future project. On a visit to my house, my younger granddaughter mixed the paint colours of her choice and then painted the frame with a base coat. When it was dry (with a little bit of help with a hairdryer!) she decorated the frame with painted flowers. A sparkly jewel sticker in the centre of each flower added some bling and we then found a photo of her with her brother to put in the frame. When she finished the project she decided it was to be a gift for her other grandmother who was most appreciative.

A project with a purpose where we talked together,  experimented with colour mixing and enjoyed a sense of pride in work well done.
